Brush and Click's Journey

Original Purpose

Brush and Click began as an educational arts initiative focused on teaching digital art to youth and older adults in the Eugene area. The original intent was community-oriented: make digital creative tools more accessible and less intimidating. I built the first version of the website and designed the brand around that goal.

establishing a strong foundation in communication and visual problem-solving.

While the educational work was meaningful, I found the experience provided valuable insight into audience engagement, program design, and the practical considerations needed to create a sustainable model for creative learning.

Progression

I made a significant yet gradual shift and repositioned Brush and Click as a creative marketing and design studio. I reworked the site, revised the SEO strategy, and reframed the brand to better reflect my broader design and technical skill set.

During this phase, I discovered a misalignment between the business model and actual workflow, which emphasized the importance of structuring operations around capacity, capabilities, and sustainable processes.

Where It Landed

Through reflection, it became clear that my strengths lie in focused, systems-oriented design rather than in constant self-promotion or aggressive marketing. I recognized that demonstrating skill and building credibility requires visible work: sharing projects, documenting process, and actively seeking feedback.

Brush and Click now operates as a solo design consultancy built around clarity, transparency, and continuous improvement—emphasizing practical results, process visibility, and sustained learning over exposure or hype.
